CENTERVILLE ISD

I have been with Centerville ISD since the year 2000. After substitute teaching for one year in grades kindergarten through 12th grade, I became the secretary for the Centerville Jr/Sr High School principal and was there until 2008. This was because in 2007 I decided that it was time for me to go back to college and seek teacher certification. After completing the required courses at both Sam Houston State University and Region VI in Huntsville, I became certified in English/Language Arts/Reading for grades 4-8 and am also certified for ESL. Currently, I teach 6th Grade Reading/Language Arts here at Centerville Elementary.  This is my 14^th year to teach 6^th Grade RLA.

In 1982 I married Byron Knight; this year we will have been married for 40 years.  We have a daughter - Kristin, a son-in-law – Ricky, two grandsons - Luke (age seven) and Benjamin (age four), and a third grandson due in December of this year.  Kristin graduated from Centerville High School in 2007 and SHSU in 2012. My pets include the following three cats:  gray cat - Juliet,  siamese cat - Lucy, and a black and white cat named Desi. 

My hobbies include reading, shopping, sewing, painting, and watching classic movies.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family - especially my grandsons, Luke and Benjamin.
