Am I Dyslexic?

Parents often wonder if their children are dyslexic.  All children face developmental struggles when they are learning how to read.  However, what do we do when students seem to lag despite of the classroom instruction and learning? Our teachers, parents, and students themselves have to be proactive and seek immediate intervention.  Children are great at letting us know that they are struggling.  We must be great listeners.

Dyslexic students are bright learners.  They are the students who have all the answers when asked the questions orally. Yet, when asked to read, write, or spell, they seem to struggle.  Their fluency, accuracy, and rate are compromised due to their reading deficiencies.  Because these problems are prevalent, comprehension is sacrificed.

Attached is a link to the state handbook.  It contains definitions, questions, and answers.  Feel free to browse.
