Q: Do I have to be in a HS theatre class in order to be in a production?

A: No. However, to be in the class productions, you must be in the class. Right now, we are planning to have some productions outside of class, and you do not have to be in the class to be in those productions. 

 

Q: Is participating in a performance required to pass the theatre / theatre tech course in which I am enrolled?

A: Yes. Participation is defined as either an acting or a technical role. Students taking this course from home will still be required to participate (there are many jobs in putting on a performance!)

 

Q: What about OAP?

A: UIL has not given any specific guidelines for how OAP might look this year, but for right now, the contest is planning to happen as normal, in the spring. It is still undecided whether OAP will be a class production or an outside class production or whether it will be a mix of both. The answer to that will come within the first three weeks of school.
