Current Position:

I began teaching at Centerville Elementary in January 2001 as a fifth grade science and social studies teacher, and I am now in my 15th year of teaching in the district. Beginning the 2015-2016 school year I will be teaching both fourth and fifth grade science.

Previous Position:

Prior to moving to Centerville when I married my wife Debbie, I taught in the Magnolia ISD school district at Bear Branch Elementary. There I taught all subjects in third grade.

Before becoming a teacher I managed different locations of a large tire and auto repair chain for many years and also did woodworking for a living.

Family Information:

I am married to a wonderful women named Debbie. We were married on New Years Eve 2000. Debbie says she chose this date so it would be easy for me to remember our anniversary. I haven't forgotten yet! She had two teenage boys, Chris and Nick, when we married who have grown into very good men. At the time I am putting this information in we are expecting our first grandson, Tucker Roy Nickerson, in August. Both our sons graduated from Centerville and graduated from Sam Houston State University, with one spending 8 years in the Marines. We have two Dachshunds named Deets and Newt.

Personal Information:

When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my wife Debbie. I have a wood working shop in which I spend many hours making rustic furniture and saddle racks. I also like to deer hunt and catch a few fish.
